On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, you’ll once again be able to buy loads of books for €10 per kilo at Spazio Supernova, a venue created through the regeneration of a former industrial site and which has now become a hub for art, culture and socialising.
Librokilo is a project that combines a love for books with a commitment to sustainable publishing.

Every day in Italy, more than 230 titles are published — almost 10 every hour*.

More than half of these books remain unsold and are returned to the publisher or distributor after just a few weeks, risking to be pulped because storing them costs more than destroying them.

Data published by the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) on the occasion of the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair.

DOES NO ONE READ ANYMORE, REALLY?
SURVEYThe second-hand book market in Italy represents an increasingly significant cultural, economic and environmental phenomenon, yet one that remains largely understudied. Indeed, there are no regular surveys that would enable us to understand who buys second-hand books, what motivates this choice, how books circulate after they have been read for the first time, and what role the second-hand market plays in promoting reading.
