Librokilo first came to Bologna in September 2024, hosted by DumBO, an urban regeneration center located in the former Ravone freight yard. Given its resounding success, it returned the following September for an entire weekend dedicated to books and sustainability.
On Saturday July the 5th 2025, from 4 PM to midnight, Librokilo arrived for the first time in the province of Varese at La Cattedrale space, offering a vast selection of non-fiction, fiction, graphic novels, children's books, and much more — all in excellent condition and saved from being destroyed.
For the very first time in Umbria, Librokilo took place at the CERP – Exhibition Center Rocca Paolina, the historic halls of the monumental fortress designed in the 16th century, today a place of extraordinary charm.

Brescia (2025) – On Saturday, March 29, Librokilo arrived in Brescia for the very first time to save even more tons of books from being pulped, with an even more sustainable edition thanks to a partnership with Rete CAUTO – a network of Brescian cooperatives that has been promoting circular economy and integrated sustainability for 30 years, combining care for the environment and for people.
Librokilo arrives in Florence for the very first time: on Saturday, February 1st, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at Spazio B12 in Manifattura Tabacchi — a new district of Florence, returned to the city after the careful redevelopment of a complex that once historically housed a cigar factory.
The evocative foyer of Teatro Elfo Puccini – a landmark of culture and artistic experimentation – has already hosted Librokilo twice during the pre-Christmas season. An event featuring fiction, essays, thrillers, and often special projects dedicated to Christmas.
Librokilo arrived in Turin with a very special Christmas edition to save even more tons of books from being pulped.
On Sunday, December 1st, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the event took place at Combo – a former fire station now turned into an international meeting point in the heart of Porta Palazzo.
Librokilo stopped in Genoa in both 2023 and 2024 at the Palazzo Ducale.
It will come back in 2025, on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October from 10:00 to 19:00, again at the Sala del Munizioniere, Palazzo Ducale, Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, Genoa.
On Sunday, June 23rd, Librokilo came to Bergamo, hosted by Daste – a former thermoelectric power plant that has been transformed into a hub for community, social life, and cultural exchange, driving urban, social, and cultural transformation.
From 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, you had the possibility to save tons of new and second-hand books by purchasing them for just €10 per kilo.
Librokilo came to Parma, hosted by the OFF Circuit of the Parma 360 Festival, to save more tons of books from being pulped. Sunday, May 26, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Spazio 360 in the evocative Galleria Bassa dei Magnani, Borgo Piccinini 1.
